Nozzles

About Nozzles

A nozzle is a component that allows and controls the flow of air, gases, water or other liquids through it. Filter nozzles restrict passage of sediments, block the passage of solids and pollutants and prevent escaping of resins. The basic function of a filter nozzle is to allow the passage of the desired gas or liquid while preventing other matter that could damage the production process or the end product from entering the system.

A typical filter strainer has 3 main components – an inlet tube or stem, a strainer to stop the movement of solid matter and a mounting arrangement. VP Engineers offers different types of filter nozzles with different shapes, patterns, and slots or orifice sizes from the finest to protect sensitive processes to larger coarser ones for general industrial applications.

VP Engineers is not just a leading nozzle manufacturer in India, we are among the leading global nozzle manufacturers.

The Different Types of Nozzles

The range of nozzles can be divided into 2 main types, made of plastic or metal:

  • Filter nozzles
  • Water spray nozzles and grid spacer

Filter Nozzles

Filter Nozzles

This type of nozzle consists of 2 main components- the filter and the stem. It is the filter that traps the solid particles from passing through. The number and size of the openings in the filter will determine the amount of flow through and the size of the material retained.

This type of nozzle has a wide range of applications including water purification, industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment, ion exchange systems, water softening processes, pressure sand filtering, brain filter, effluent treatment plants, DM plants, side stream filters, gravity sand filters and many more.

Our nozzles are manufactured to customer requirements with a wide range of slot sizes and using a variety of materials including PP, PE, ABS and SS.

Spray Nozzles:

Spray Nozzles

These nozzles are mainly used in cooling towers. The function of a cooling tower is to cool the hot water that comes out after passing through the heat exchanger. The hot water enters the array of spray nozzles which maximizes the spread of spray over the grid Forced air circulation within the tower converts these water droplets into a fine spray or mist. This allows the heat to rapidly transfer to the surrounding air which drops the water temperature. The cooled water is once again ready to be part of the production process and absorb the heat generated by it. The efficiency of the cooling tower in lowering the water temperature has a direct impact on the efficiency of the production process (generation of power for example).

We have sophisticated testing facilities to validate the quality of our nozzles and to check their efficiency. That is how we ensure that our customers get the right quality spray nozzles for their application. Using the most efficient spray nozzles means that the size of a cooling tower may be reduced which has an immediate impact on its cost, besides the long-term reduction in operating costs.

Grid-Spacer:

Grid Spacer Drift Eliminator

These are used in cooling towers as packing. They are structured into the cooling towers as part of the bed that allows for the optimum upward flow of cooling air through the water to remove the heat and rapidly lower the water temperature. The grids ensure that the maximum water surface area is exposed to the moving air to carry away the heat. The grids are placed in tiers to maximize efficiency.

We produce grids in 2 sizes:

  • Type 1: 940 x 742 x 24 mm
  • Type 2: 956 x 706 x 24 mm

Who Uses Nozzles?

The range of industries that use filter nozzles is too long to list out in detail. The many fields include chemical, steel, surface treatment, power generation, environmental engineering, air conditioning, paper, machine tools, food and beverage, agriculture industries- irrigation, desalination, power generation and much more.

We understand that as a leading nozzle supplier, our customers depend on our filter nozzles to keep their production processes operate smoothly. As with all our products, our objective is to build strong and lasting relationships with businesses that use our filter nozzles. We believe that being a stakeholder in our customers’ growth will bring us growth.
